Mohammed Yusuf (16)
We initially met Paul through Yusuf's school where Paul is the cricket coach. We asked Paul to provide some additional 1:1 coaching for Yusuf and the development he has gone through has been fantastic. Not only did Paul work on Yusuf's technical game he also spoke to him about the mental and physical aspects. In 12 months Yusuf has gone from playing Bradford League 2nd XI, 2nd Division to 1st XI Premier League.
A highlight of 2021 was Yusuf getting selected for Yorkshire U18's .
Yusuf's all round game has matured and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paul to anyone looking for a coach for their son or daughter.

When we started out with Hutch Cricket we only had one objective and that was, 'to get better', what we quickly realised is that with the right coach and the right encouragement anything is possible. So the objective changed and became, 'picked for Heavy Woollen on a regular basis' when that was achieved the next logical step was 'representative cricket for Yorkshire'. Earlier this year that milestone was also achieved culminating with impressive figures at the Ampleforth Festival in the summer. From 'better' to successful Yorkshire trial took a little over 12 months which is truly incredible and testimony to Paul's coaching and his ability to turn 'potential' in to reality and all of this in a fun and positive way.
Getting better at anything takes practice, practicing in the right way in the right environment is the best way to succeed and that's what you get with Paul and Hutch Cricket. As parents we couldn't be more proud of our son's achievements and we will be eternally grateful to Paul and his team for helping him continually achieve his goals.

Max Chaplin
Paul was recommended to ourselves at the start of last season and we haven’t looked back since.
He initially spent time assessing Max, getting to know him and slowly building his trust over a few sessions.
The big thing for me is that Max is challenged at every session and there is always a meaning to the end result (not just simple throw downs or bowling at the stumps). Although he is constantly talking to Max, he tries to let him work it out for himself, be this batting, bowling or fielding.
For an allrounder like Max, it is massively important that every skill is included at each session and Hutch ensures sufficient time is spent on each skill area (incl fielding) for Max’s all round development.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hutch to any parent who wants to see their child challenged to improve their game but also playing with a smile on their face and enjoying every session.

Hutch is a most impressive coach. His approach provides the perfect balance between fun, encouragement and a continual desire for improvement. Whilst he is always there to offer his thoughts and advice, he challenges our son, Alexander, also to think for himself during critical moments. Very quickly, he has transformed Alexander’s technical skills, nurtured his passion for the game and boosted his confidence as a player and as a person.

Having worked with him for 3 winters, Isaac's game has progressed each year through Paul's focus and commitment. Having a coach who takes time to understand a players needs and own objectives has been crucial to his development. Paul has ensured that Isaac is aware of the strengths within his game and how these can be developed and the skills enhanced. Each session is well structured, but contains elements of fun too ensuring a good relationship is built. Feedback is constantly given, and at the end of each session a quick review takes place with player (and parent too if they want).

Louis Johnson
My son, Louis Johnson has been having sessions with Paul for almost 4 years now. Louis has been playing county age group cricket since under 10s and is now 16 playing for under 18s development and performance teams. He is an opening bowler and sometimes opening batsman for Chorley Cricket club 1st XI in the Northern Premier league.
Paul has worked tirelessly with him to improve his techniques and knowledge of the game, and game plans for when things go well and not so well in matches. Louis has found this invaluable and his game is well advanced for his age.
Paul has a great relationship with Louis and myself, and we bounce ideas around, but its Louis trust in what Paul is teaching him which is the icing on the cake.
We have had several coaches before Paul and they all fall well short of what Paul achieves with Louis.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to other players both old and young as he passes on his wealth of experience to players of all ages and abilities.
